Westminster Landing resident and 6th grade student of Windy Ridge School won the first place prize in the Foundation for OCPS Top Talent Competition held at HARD ROCK LIVE at Universal Studios Orlando Florida on Saturday May 12, 2012 by singing Jennifer Hudson's And I Am Telling You. The prize included a grant of $1000.00 and a trophy for Windy Ridge School.

As Reported in the Southwest Orlando Bulletin July 7-20, 2011
"Congratulations to Windy Ridge School students for collectively scoring the highest of any Orange County Public Schools middle-schoolers on the FCAT. Ninety-seven percent of WRS students scored at Level 4 or higher, making their school the top middle school in the district. Kudos also to Olympia High students for being the top high school performers on the FCAT, with 91 percent of students scoring at Level 4 or higher."
